FALLING ON THE FOVEA installation

July 1-10 / 2006
“Falling on the Fovea”, installation
[video, flat screen display, aluminum, wood, plexiglass, magnifiers, fluorescent light, b&w print]
dimensions variable
Media Art Hall, AKI, Enschede, The Netherlands

Falling on the Fovea installation functions as an extension of the film project, consisting of two divided spaces: a black room where the viewer has to peer through a cut out of the wall window, to watch the video piece, adding to the depth perception; and a white room where images (characters, digits, dots) are shown through optical systems and magnifiers. Those additional elements are inspired by the same concept of non-linear visual perception, while some of them were part of the actual shooting setup.
